This is the art I made for my AI Historical Figures project. It’s used by the AI Twitter accounts as the profile picture and banner image. I wanted to develop a style that’s unique and recognizable, so Twitter users who saw multiple accounts would make the connection that they go together in a series.
I started playing around separating the images into zones according to brightness levels, then isolating those brightness zones and applying all kinds of effects. I used the Blender image editor for this.
Below are the final images for the accounts I’m currently running on Twitter, AI Marcus Aurelius and AI Niccolò Machiavelli (click for full size). I like that at small sizes they look a lot like the original images, but up close they’re a total mess. That’s the uncanny valley experience we’re sure to be having as AI gets more advanced.
I’ve made more images in this style for other historical figures, and I’ll publish them when I add those Twitter accounts in the future.
