Hue Paint is a digital tool I made to force a given hue (color) onto an image, but only where it looks right. So, if you pick out a specific “red,” you can make all the reds in the image match it, and leave the other colors unchanged. This is a subtle way to make any photo match a given color palette. Descent (image series)
This one came from another dream I had. Nothing really happened in the dream that I can remember, but the physical space was pretty striking. There’s lots of meanings we could ascribe to this. I have an interpretation, but I’d rather leave it up to you. Continue reading
AI Historical Figure banner art (image series)
This is the art I made for my AI Historical Figures project. It’s used by the AI Twitter accounts as the profile picture and banner image. I wanted to develop a style that’s unique and recognizable, so Twitter users who saw multiple accounts would make the connection that they go together in a series. Continue reading
Omen (image)
This is a recreation of a scary dream I had when I was very young, maybe four or five years old. It’s the oldest dream I can remember and one of my oldest memories period. The dream was just that … Continue reading
Weariness (image)
This image came to my mind a year and a half ago when I was sick and more-or-less stranded in Australia, at the tail end of my vacation, because all the airlines were canceling their service due to covid. I wanted to portray the weariness you feel when a handful of different problems happen to combine around you. Continue reading
King Kang (painting)
I was in Australia in March of this year, and things were starting to lock down towards the end of my trip because of COVID-19, so my friend and I got some paints and had a painting day. Mine was obviously inspired by the setting. Continue reading
Lightning Creatures (image series)
I’ve finished another Blender project—per tradition, this comes from a dream I had. Inspiration I dreamed I was in something like the Nintendo video game Metroid Prime. The Prime series of games features a lone human explorer making her way … Continue reading
Tiered Mansion interior (image series)
This creation is another indoor space—a large atrium containing three tiered platforms, each being a semi-private space leading up to a curtained-off bedroom area. The platforms are narrow in the center which gives the look of overlapping bridges and leaves most of the atrium as empty space. Continue reading
Penthouse Platform interior (image series)
– In which I take a dream I had and make it as photorealistic as possible – Like my Harbor Terminal project, this piece is based on a scene that I saw in a dream. It was a penthouse apartment … Continue reading
Campanile di Giotto lightshade (hardware)
My friends from college know there’s something about me and lamps… Set-up I recently bought a small automatic plugin light for my bathroom, so I don’t have to blind myself with the main lights in middle of the night. But … Continue reading
Dance billboard (image)
I made a fun image—a mini-project. It’s special to me because I saw it in a dream; it was on a billboard in a city. Sometimes when I’m having a dream, I realize I’m dreaming and that it’ll end soon, … Continue reading
Ear Hockey, a Microsoft Garage project
For the past year and a half, I’ve been working with an unofficial team at Microsoft to develop audio-based games—games that can be played with just the sound. Now I’m happy to announce that Ear Hockey, a game which I’ve … Continue reading
Architect planter (hardware)
This is another 3D model to be printed and used as a planter. I was prompted recently to create it and order one for myself because someone gave me a new plant as a gift. It’s a stout, simple human … Continue reading
Leonardo Clock app widget
This is a programming project I’ve been working on for fun and practice. It’s an Android app that is a home screen widget, meaning it displays actual app content, not just an icon, on the home screen. Like my Harbor Terminal project, … Continue reading
Microsoft Star Wars novelty poster (image)
Let me just say, categorizing this as “art” is a big stretch. But it features some of the same technical skills, so there’s that. As a gag gift for a White Elephant Christmas party at my office, I created this image in Photoshop and had it printed and framed. I also printed out a huge poster for myself, which now hangs in one of the common areas of our building on Microsoft’s campus. Continue reading
